Since RayPack Studio 6.3, application layers can not only be created, but also converted, edited and saved. This innovative technology offers a high degree of flexibility as well as enormous time savings. RayPack Studio closes the functional gaps that arise with app layers and VDI using Citrix App Layering technology once and for all. Typical challenges are large and unnecessary amounts of data, which lead to performance losses, conspicuously large network and storage capacities, but also to conflicts between the individual application layers.

With PackTailor, users extract installer adjustments by applying the easiest of methods: the simple walk trough of the installation’s user interface sequence, which is already contained in the MSI resources. As soon as the results of user interaction have been traced, analyzed, and – where required – manually fi ne-tuned with the PackTailor Wizard, RayPack generates a transform fi le that is ready for deployment. Preparing a set-up that runs in the back ground without requiring user interaction (‘silent installation’) has now become a matter of just a few mouse clicks – like MSI branding and localization.

When working with packages of different formats, the new wizard now allows you to create a PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit wrapper to perform all necessary steps regardless of package type. PackWrapper generates installer-neutral wrappers that have standardized command lines for installing and uninstalling packages. It supports silent and interactive mode (with a simple user interface) and handles both Windows Installer setups and classic executables. Common installation frameworks are detected automatically. At the same time, a silent command line is also generated automatically. This speeds up the process enormously.
