Altiris was founded 1998, although the origin is already to be found at the beginning of the 90's as a pioneer in the areas software distribution and configuration. On 6. April 2007 Altiris became a business part of Symantec and combines now its abilities in the endpoint management area with the security and backup solutions of Symantec. Thus the enterprise has to offer a unique solution combination to the market.
Some of the most valued companies of the world recognized the abilities of the Altiris technology, among them Hewlett-Packard, Dell, IBM, Intel, Microsoft and Cisco. For more than 6 years a close partnership with these and further companies exists, thereby innovative solutions help the customers to reduce the total costs for the protection and the administration of their IT-plants.
In May 2002 Altiris went to the stock exchange as the first software management company for 18 months and was thus the first company from the software management area, which accomplished its stock exchange course up to the end. Altiris always had a successful positive balance to show - even in weak economic phases, Altiris could show a positive sales growth in 8 sequential years since 1998. In the Forbes list „the 25 fastest increasing technology enterprises“ Altiris was distinguished in the year 2006 as at the fastest increasing technology enterprise.
The Altiris software received numerous prices and industrial acknowledgments as a proven solution for even most fastidious challenges within the system management area.
